The committee is considering giving legal personality to the
Association in order that it can make representations of a legal nature
and stand by its words and actions. Our legal commission is evaluating
the pros and cons of having the Association formalised legally through
a notarial act that will register the Association with the intention
that it can enjoy all the legal rights and obligations of a corporate
person. It is only in this way that the Association can take effective
action when the need arises.
::. Meeting Place in
the Countryside
It is also being proposed that the Association will give its share in
the upkeep and maintenance of one of the heritage sites that rests in a
dilapidated state, of which the country abounds. It is a real pity that
sites of historical and cultural importance lay abandoned, often rented
out at a pittance to trappers and squatters of all sorts, without any
consideration being given to their upkeep. The improvement and
commendable rehabilitation that some such like sites have been given by
Din l-Art Helwa and
Fondazzjoni
Wirt Artna are worthy of emulation, and the Association wants to show
its goodwill toward the nation by also making its contribution, saving
and caring for what is affordable to its resources.
Siggiewi
There will be benefits for the members of the Association as well in
the fact that use can be made of the rehabilitated site for stopovers
or starting-points for organised walks. The committee is on the lookout
for a suitable site.
